So I was doing my usual blog trawling yesterday instead of creating content as I do, and I came across two sites recommending CashCrate as a way to make a quick online income. They both mentioned that it was easy peasy and shoved the usual here’s proof pictures of checks in my face.

I’m a skeptical beast at the best of times but I like to have proof for my skepticism and went and signed up. At first glance I wasn’t impressed. I’m all the way down here in little old Australia so the offers were only 2 pages worth. Most of them were for .25c. Fair enough I thought. Twenty five cents for not doing much was all right I guess. Looking further I found out what I had to do for that .25c.

I had to sign up for the free offers and participate in them for the required amount of time. If I canceled early I wouldn’t get my money. This was going to take some planning because the TOS required you to cancel only on the day that the free trial ended. I could see myself getting caught with a bunch of credit card charges for stuff I didn’t want if I wasn’t careful.  Not only that, but I had to agree to download a cookie or software to my computer to be eligible for the whopping .25c bonus. Hmmm, I don’t think so. To make even a measly $10.00 from these offers I would have to invest in a calendar, spend time jotting down all the time frames and when to cancel,  hand out my cell / mobile phone number to numerous companies, download software and cookies and also read oodles and oodles of TOS’s. That’s a big ask for such a small compensation.

I didn’t look much further than that and went to find out how people can earn so much money from this carp. You guessed it. You can get lots of money by signing people up and earn commission for anything that they get suckered into.  Apparently, in the States, there are two daily guaranteed surveys which can earn you small amounts on a daily basis. Here in Australia there isn’t much on offer so I can’t recommend this as a valid way to get lots of quick cash or long term for that matter. For the amount of time I’d need to to commit for such small amounts I’m better off posting advertisements on USFreeads.
