I was just browsing my twitter tweets and read one by James J Jones of Micro Niche Finder fame which talks about the Google Wonder Wheel. This tool is fantastic and if not useful it at least makes the hunt for a niche market a lot more interesting.

I do find it useful though. I’m influenced more by visual stimulation so anything that graphically represents a search is going to naturally appeal to me. Apparently the Google Wonder Wheel debuted earlier this year so it’s been around for a while. So what is this Wonder Wheel thingy any way?

Basically it represents graphically a Latent Semantic Search or LSI. LSI is a fancy way of saying related. Here’ s a picture which gives you an idea of how it works.

To get to the wonder wheel you click the little plus sign labeled show options that’s under the search text box but just above the actual search results.  In the menu which appears is a link titled Wonder Wheel. Click on that and you will get access to this splendiferous device. It shows you the main search in the center of the wheel and all those little arms shooting off are related subjects. This is an awesome way to drill down into a niche to find one that has low competition. When you click on one of those related search terms you get something like this.

See what I mean. Awesome.  I’m going to be using this tool a lot from now on.  Here at Easy Stay At Home Jobs I like to make my research as easy and enjoyable as I can and this little tool is great.  By drilling down deeper and deeper into a niche, then taking that term and researching it in Micro Niche Finder, I should be able to find some really good low competition highly searched keywords.

I did the actual keyword research 2 days ago via the method they recommend and marked all the good keywords. It took me about 4 hours in between yelling at the kids but it was worth it as I managed to snag some really good phrases.

Yesterday I bought the required domain with the keywords in the url which was cool and today I have installed the WordPress blog software. I originally went with Joomla which I love working with but when you want to do something simple and quick WordPress is the way to go. For SEO it’s easier to set up than Joomla and adding information to your site is much simpler.

Well, that’s it for this post. I’m off to try and create some content. I’m so crap at writing articles that I know nothing about I might have to go and pay for ‘em but I’ll give it a go to start with.
