How Much Does Originality Count in the Eyes of Google

Tracey Edwards posted some great information on whether or not an original website will rank better than the usual affiliate adsense garbage we often have shoved in our faces.

I have to admit I do find it irritating to search for something only to find pages and pages of badly written articles that have strategically placed ads and no real information. Being a jaded internet marketer I know what’s up with these types of pages and I know that the folks who create them have no real intention of making the internet a better place.

So my advice is the same as Tracey’s which is don’t be like everyone else. Create good information and give the searcher some real info on where to go to get what their looking for. I’m not sure if Google’s algo can detect that but I know that they have human reviewers whose job it is to find crappy sites and deal with them. I for one will be taking some of her sage advice and implementing her ideas on my websites time permitting. At the very least it will make them more palatable to a human eye if not to Google’s algorithm which can only be a good thing.

Finally Got My $300/Month Badge at The Keyword Academy

Woo Hoo. It’s been a long time coming but I finally cracked the $300 a month barrier with my sites developed with The Keyword Academy method.

I only included my Adsense and my Amazon earnings. I deliberately left out the Kindle publishing profits which have been good but have suddenly died in the bum due to other people catching on with the subject matter I was doing well in. Oh well. Kind of knew it wouldn’t last anyway. I’m pretty happy I made my investment back and then some so it’s all good.

Haven’t had much time to put books up so my library is kind of limited but it’s something you can keep plugging away at whenever you get a spare moment as once your book is up your work is nil.

The wife and I are palming the kids off to some other suckers for the night at a sleepover while we go out and spend some of my hard earned profits on dinner and a movie. Going to see Thor. Awesome.

The moral of this story is that if you just keep plugging away eventually something will stick and you’ll find yourself making some dough. So keep at it and good luck.
