The Keyword Academy TKA 2.0 is all About The Passion Baby

Many people might not like it but I for one love it. The new direction The Keyword Academy is taking us is awesome in my opinion. For too long the Internet has been filled up with mediocrity but now it’s time for a change.

Sure, I created sites around the methodology of TKA1.0 but my heart wasn’t in it. But hey, it worked. Fortunately I have a hobby that I can both be passionate about and sell products in so it’s the best of both worlds and this new approach is going to teach us how to create and monetize a site we can enjoy creating.

I’m still going to use the old method to create back links to my current TKA1.0 sites as those sorts of product sites aren’t the type to get them naturally. They still make a little bit of money so while they are doing that I’ll keep ‘em. One interesting thing that came up in the last webinar is the imminent death of the Niche Refinery. Apparently we don’t need it as we are now going to completely disregard competition and instead create long, valuable and insightful posts littered with long tail phrases. And lots of ‘em. Don’t worry though as there is proof that this method works.

I hope they keep Post Runner as it is currently giving both my product sites and my passion site a real boost in the rankings. Can’t see them getting rid of that any time soon as we’ll probably always need a little bit of back linking if only to get the initial interest in the site going. It’s also a good way of getting fresh content to your site everyday if it’s plugged in.

There is currently a debate raging over at The Keyword Academy about whether it’s right or wrong to concentrate on only one website. There are pros and cons for each method of course. I like the idea of only having one site and 1 domain registration to not only cost less every year but also to receive all of your focus. Oops, I currently have thirty domains and to be honest I’m rather sick of most of them. I’m always trying to keep them fresh and stress about where they are in the rankings. There just isn’t enough hours in the day.

I’ve noticed that I always tend to gravitate towards the sites I enjoy researching and writing about anyway. It’s also easier to write about the subject matter as it’s all in my head so I don’t have to research it so much. Not having to worry about back linking so much is kind of foreign to my Internet Marketing upbringing but a little bit can’t hurt can it? Anyway I can’t wait for the new lessons and implementing them for my main passion site.

One excellent method I think people can use when deciding on a passion site is to pick something that they’ve always wanted to learn but just never got around to it. Well,  now here’ s your excuse to finally get amongst it. You can learn your new hobby and write about it as you go. When your significant other half gives you dirty looks about the money your spending you can tell ‘em it’s just for business. Let people know how it all works, whatever it is, and possibly get the audience involved with blog comments and forum participation.

Currently I’m attaching a blog to my main passion site and also have just installed a forum. Now I just need to figure out how to work it all. Running a forum is a whole new world to me and I don’t have a clue how to run one. Good thing I like muckin’ about with all this stuff.

Google Panda and The Keyword Academy Making The Internet Thingy a Nicer Place

I’ve seen a lot of news and the Google Panda algorithm update but I tend to ignore such things and just do what I do. I like to think that I try hard with my websites and do my best to make them appealing to the visitor. I’m learning as I go without any real design training so I don’t know how well I’m doing but I think I’m getting the hang of it.

Anyway, from what I’ve heard Google have added a few things to their algorithm that may affect how worthy our sites are for the top positions. One of the updates that I like the best is how fast does the user click the back button. I think this is brilliant. I’m always checking out the competition and some of the websites in a couple of my niches are woeful.

I hear all the time that content is king but if someone is looking for pink slippers then why would the searcher want to troll through a badly written and boring 400 word essay all about pink slippers. There’s not much to say about them really and even if it was well written I can still guarantee that it would be as boring as bat poo. People don’t want an education on this stuff, they want to buy it so give ‘em what they want. I reckon this algo change is one for the better and should weed out a few of the lazier Internet Marketers looking for a quick adsense dollar or two.

Another algorithm change is the time on site statistic. Apparently Google is using this to judge the quality of a website as well. It stands to reason that if a visitor spends a bit of time on your site then they like what they see and want to see more of it. This is also a good thing.

This brings me to The Keyword Academy and why I will be staying on as a member. The Keyword academy were originally about a site being just good enough rather than top quality and getting it to rank with backlinks. Lots of good backlinks can make even the crappiest of websites rank or at least it used to.

But rather than keep on with the old system (which worked and probably still will for a while) that fills the Internet with mediocre content and given the Google Panda update The Keyword Academy has decided to re-brand itself as teachers of quality rather than quantity. It’s now TKA 2.0 and the system has been modified to teach people to make the Internet a nicer place to visit.

It’s all about writing for the searcher rather than writing for Google. This new way of doing things is an excellent transition and should go a long way to ensuring our business can stand the test of time. Things like writing about stuff we’re interested in, becoming an authority in your niche and making an attractive well laid out website all are now playing a bigger role in the grand scheme of things.

One day we may not have to traul through reams of rubbish to find the perfect pink slippers and I’m looking forward to it.
