Scammers Living Large With Online Money Making Schemes
I was driving down the road today and I noticed a billboard. On this bill board was a man throwing money up in the air and he obviously looked very pleased with himself. In big bold letters were the words Livin’ Large. I didn’t get to see the details on the first drive past but made a mental note to look more closely the next time.
The second time I drove past this sign and took a closer look at the smaller text I was quite surprised to find that this was a bill board about making money on the Internet. As I have a bit of experience with Internet Marketing and not much experience at raking in the big bucks I can only feel sorry for the people who get suckered in by this advertisement.
I’ve seen plenty of ads of this type around the Internet before but I’ve never seen one plastered all over a billboard. Talk about capitalising on a financially challenged population. It was obvious that the advertisement was implying that making bundles of cash on the Internet was extremely easy if only you’d pay $200 for a seminar that taught you how to do it.
I know there are ways to make dollars online but I also know that to do so you need to learn a lot of new skills and get into a different mindset that is not in any way related to the traditional method of working for your food and rent. Most people are conditioned to do work and get paid. It’s a bit different on the Internet in that you do lots of work for the first few months, usually 6 – 12 by my reckoning, and you don’t get paid a dime until you either hit on something that works and build on that or your previous efforts finally start paying off and multiply exponentially.
Either way, in some ways it is harder than working a traditional job if your aim is to replace your income so you can have some freedom in your life. It is certainly harder considering the fact that if you have just lost your job and need to pay the mortgage, giving someone 200 bucks for a seminar on money making online is not going to put food on the table for some time. I’m not saying that the methods they teach are going to be crap but just that by implying that it can be done overnight is slightly misleading and shouldn’t be allowed. These people need to be made accountable for making promises they can’t keep but I bet they have fairly water tight small print in their contracts.
I’m all for paying good money for some quality information that can help me in my quest and have done so many times. I make it a point to steer away from advertisements where images of lots and lots of money are displayed to trigger the greed mechanism that is prevalent in the human race. Everything I recommend on this site has been bought or reviewed by me and is something I have found to be quality material. The one thing all the stuff I have used is they were created by ethical marketers who point blank inform their customers that it all takes time, effort, knowledge and in most cases quantity. The old adage of quality not quantity does not striclty apply. I am finding that not only do you need quality but you also need quantity and I’m tallking heaps of quantity. It doesn’t have to be Wordsworth qualtity but you do have to provide good information or a worthy product if you’re going to survive.
I have the dream that someday all my efforts will finally pay off and I can look after my family the way they deserve but until then I’ll keep writing articles, building websites, hub pages and Squidoo lenses and eventually the trickle will hopefully turn into a flood or at least a small river.
